Liz stumbled into her first yoga class in 2005. As a high school and college athlete, she was insistent that yoga was not going to be the “sport” for her. She had no idea how quickly she would be hooked, loving both the challenge of the physical practice and the deeper emotional benefits. Those two components continue to draw her back to the mat.
Liz is a certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa yoga instructor (E-RYT 500). She has completed both her 200 and 500-hour trainings under Baron Baptiste and now travels to assist these trainings and programs around the world. She has also studied under Live Love Teach founders Philip Urso, Debbie Williamson and Stacy Dockins.
Liz teaches an invigorating power vinyasa-style class that she developed through these formal trainings as well as nearly a decade of being a student herself. A native Nashvillian, Liz draws inspiration from the many talented teachers she has practiced with in her hometown. She also learns a great deal from her own students and hopes to challenge and inspire them to seek personal growth both on their mat and in everyday life.
When she’s not in the studio, you’ll likely find Liz on the lake where she spends her summer teaching yoga on stand-up paddle boards with Nashville Paddle Company. She is also the founder of Small World Yoga, a non-profit dedicated to making yoga accessible to more people in the Nashville community.
Liz is passionate about both the Nashville and global yoga community and has been involved with multiple events, trainings and fundraising efforts. She traveled to Kenya in 2013 to assist a Baptiste training for over 90 Africa Yoga Project teachers and currently serves as an AYP mentor. Liz also helps to organize the annual Music City Yoga Festival which brings together the local yoga community and raises funds for Small World Yoga & Africa Yoga Project.
